Furnace Repair

Expert Furnace Repair by McKinley Heating Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning

Keeping year-round contentment shouldn’t be something that you have to worry about every time you switch between your air conditioner and furnace as the temperatures vary. While you certainly don’t want to have to even think about the possibility of your furnace breaking in the dead of winter, it can be a realistic possibility with every fleeting year – especially if you’re not timely with annual furnace service.

At McKinley Heating Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning, we understand that having the make a call in the middle of the night, on one of the coldest nights in Edmonton isn’t on any list of to-dos that you have, but it’s important to note that we should be your immediate call. Regardless of the hour, the team at McKinley Heating Service Experts has a NATE-certified technician ready 24/7/365 to be there in your point of need. We can help get your furnace back up and working so everything can get back to normal and you can start enjoying the relaxation of your home once again.

Regardless of the make, model or age of your furnace, we have the knowledge required to get your system back up and running rapidly and correctly, the first time. We compare the repair process to having a doctor do a checkup, make a diagnosis and then work to adjust the issue.

However, before giving us a call, there are a few clues that you should memorize:

  • Is your thermostat set to “heat”? – when the weather finally adjusts and it is time to turn on your furnace, it’s common to forget to flip the switch over to “heat” for the winter. And believe it or not, it’s more normal than you’d predict. Do a fast check to make sure yours is set properly.
  • Furnace switch – it looks like a regular light switch, but it controls your furnace. It should be in the Up, or On, position. Once On, your furnace won’t start up right away, but will turn on in a couple minutes as there are built-in delays in most systems.
  • Furnace filter – filters are sometimes forgotten about, but are one of the largest culprits when it comes to inefficient work and poor performance for your furnace. Make sure you switch your filter every one to three months to have better performance.
  • Circuit breaker – if your furnace is not working, anazlyze the emergency shut off and your breaker. Cycle it by switching them off, then on again. If the system still doesn’t operate, call us to help you resolve the source of the matter.

*If you notice a strong gas smell, call McKinley Heating Service Experts immediately.
